3.8 GEM Blockhouse Temperature
The temperature in the GEM blockhouse can affect the efficiency of the detectors if it varies too much. Hence an air conditioning unit is installed in the blockhouse, next to the entrance. A platinum sensor has been fitted in the blockhouse, at the far end from the entrance, and this is used to monitor the blockhouse temperature. Normally this platinum sensor is connected as TEMP3 in the camac system and its reading is logged every 2 minutes. If it is connected but not being logged then logging may be started by typing cset temp3/log=120/disp/devspc=-1 (assuming that the sensor is connected to the TEMP3 Eurotherm).
