atlas logo.gif (621 bytes) Creating a Renormalising Constant File

A renormalising constant file should be named like this: GEM00216.BET (for run 216 on GEM), and should be in the same directory as your data files. Here is a simple example of an .BET file...

3
1 0.0
2 -0.012
3 0.0075

The first line gives the number of detector groups, ngroup. This should then be followed by a further ngroup lines. Each line gives the group number and the renormalising constant, and these lines should be arranged in order of increasing group number, with no omissions or duplications. The format of the file is free (the numbers must be separated, by spaces or a comma). Note that the renormalising constants are added to the data - you should give a negative number if you want to subtract a constant.

An example file g_f:template.bet is available and this file may be copied, renamed and modified.
